Microsoft reissues problematic update

Microsoft reissued its recalled security update yesterday after the initial release earlier this month caused some users' systems to crash.

The company is encouraging all users to install the revamped MS14-045 as soon as possible. The Patch Tuesday release that included this update was the first to address problems with Windows 8.1, and the first to package some non-security updates along with the typical security ones.

The systems of affected users crashed with a '0x50 Stop error message.' They also had issues with fonts and where they were installed, as well as how they were rendered.

Although Microsoft initially pulled MS14-045, impacted users were able to remedy the problematic fix through the company's instructions.
