Website shames companies for not offering passkeys

Based on information from TechCrunch, a new website is calling out major online services for their lack of support for passkeys, a more secure alternative to traditional passwords.

The website whynopasskeys.com highlights that one in four major apps and services, including Instagram, Netflix, and Spotify, have yet to implement passkey authentication. Passkeys offer enhanced security by relying on device-specific biometrics or security keys, making them significantly harder to phish or steal than passwords. Security researcher Scott Helme created the site to pressure companies into adopting this advanced login method.

While major tech companies like Apple, Google, and Microsoft support passkeys, many others still don't. For example, Instagram offers passkeys only through a linked Facebook account.
