VIPRE Security Group has launched an integration between its Integrated Email Security product and Microsoft Defender for Office 365, bringing VIPRE's specialized phishing and business email compromise (BEC) detections directly into the Microsoft security console, Security Brief Australia reports. The integration leverages Microsoft's ICES vendor ecosystem, allowing security teams to view VIPRE alerts alongside Microsoft's native signals within a single Defender dashboard. This unified approach consolidates quarantines, dashboards, and reporting, reducing the need to switch between multiple tools for email threat investigation. The cloud-based integration requires no additional infrastructure or agents, deploying via Microsoft Defender for Office 365 P2 with a VIPRE subscription.VIPRE's detection engine analyzes language patterns indicating manipulation, emotional cues, and behavioral pressure, which are techniques commonly used in sophisticated phishing and BEC attacks that often bypass traditional filters. These attacks increasingly rely on pretexting and impersonation rather than malware attachments, targeting finance, procurement, and executive roles. VIPRE General Manager Usman Choudhary stated the integration brings "a unique layer of insight to the Microsoft ecosystem, helping customers stop the kinds of sophisticated phishing and BEC attacks that often evade traditional filters."
