Cybersecurity platform provider Uptycs announced that it has added an agentless scanning function to its product, according to Security Boulevard.
The platform, which already leverages a cloud-native application protection platform together with extended detection and response capabilities in one product, now gives enterprise cybersecurity teams the freedom to either use an agent-based approach suited for malware remediation and blocking tasks or an agentless process that allows them to fully scan unmanaged cloud workloads for misconfigurations, exposed sensitive data, policy violations, vulnerabilities, malware and other risks, according to Jack Roehrig, technology evangelist for Uptycs.
Roehrig adds that the update makes it easier for information security,IT operations and DevOps teams to collaborate because the Uptycs platforms ability to gather normalized telemetry data whether or not an agent has been installed reduces friction that teams commonly experience when they try to work together. All the while, enterprises are given one fewer cybersecurity vendor to tap because of the CNAPP and XDR capabilities already employed in the Uptycs platform, which enables continuous monitoring of endpoints, cloud resources and server fleets, according to Roehrig.
