According to Tech Radar, a new report from SailPoint highlights significant vulnerabilities in UK businesses' identity and access management practices, leading to increased cyber risks. The SailPoint report, surveying 333 IT decision-makers, reveals that 77% of UK organizations fail to deactivate ex-employee accounts promptly. This oversight, coupled with a substantial 160% surge in credential compromise incidents year-on-year, creates a prime opportunity for both disgruntled former employees and cybercriminals to access sensitive data. Compounding the issue, 34% of businesses admit to granting overly broad user access. The complexity is further amplified by the growing number of users, including contractors and partners, and the rapid onboarding of approximately 2,754 new users and up to 10,000 AI agents monthly. Alarmingly, 28% of companies still rely on outdated manual processes like spreadsheets for account validation, and 21% of AI agents are managed manually.Source: Tech Radar
