Tech Radar reports that TriWest Healthcare has confirmed a data breach that occurred on April 16, compromising sensitive information belonging to approximately 12,000 TRICARE beneficiaries.The breach allowed an unauthorized individual to access and download data, including names, DoD Benefits numbers, and ZIP codes. In some instances, the stolen information also included Social Security numbers, addresses, and dates of birth. TriWest, which manages healthcare programs for the Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs, stated that it took immediate action upon discovering the intrusion to contain the activity and has begun notifying affected individuals.No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and the compromised data has not been found online. TRICARE beneficiaries are advised to be vigilant about suspicious communications, particularly emails claiming to be from TriWest or TRICARE.Source: Tech Radar
