Nearly 3,500 museums, monuments, and cultural sites across Europe had their online reservations disrupted following a cyberattack against online ticketing platform Vivaticket's French subsidiary Irec SAS in early March, which was claimed by the RansomHouse ransomware operation, reports Cybernews. The operation listed Irec in its leak site and claimed that the information it stole included full names, purchase history, reservation details, email addresses, login timestamps, account metadata, and country of residence. The affected sites include the Muse du Louvre, Muse du Quai Branly, Muse d'Orsay, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, and Notre-Dame de Paris. The organizations have notified their customers about the breach, while Vivaticket, together with the French National Cyber Security Directorate and other law officials, works to determine the scope of the attack. Some affected organizations and online ticketing services remain unavailable. Vivaticket said there is no evidence of credit card or banking details being accessed. Assessment of the intrusion's financial toll is still being conducted by every impacted institution, according to the French Ministry of Culture.
