Suno AI music generator reportedly hacked, source code allegedly reveals data scraping

The AI music generator Suno was reportedly hacked, with a hacker claiming to have accessed sensitive source code and customer data. The breach allegedly revealed how Suno scraped audio data from various online platforms, as reported by TechCrunch.

A hacker reportedly gained access to Suno's systems through a supply chain attack, compromising employee credentials. This allegedly allowed them to obtain source code detailing Suno's alleged practice of scraping audio from platforms like YouTube Music, Deezer, and Genius, as well as stock music libraries and podcast feeds. Suno has previously stated it trains its AI on publicly available music files, citing fair use. However, major record labels argue this violates copyright law and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, particularly by circumventing YouTube's anti-scraping measures.

The breach also reportedly exposed customer data, including emails, phone numbers, and partial credit card information. Suno has not notified customers of the November 2025 incident, characterizing it as a "limited security incident."
