The Shadow Brokers hacking group has leaked another batch NSA-linked data allegedly containing a list of servers targeted in cyberespionage hacking programs.
The leaked data contains historic targets of the Equation Group and predominately mail providers, universities and targets in China make up the majority of the list, according to The Register. The leak was accompanied by a message posted on Medium which was written in broken English and critiqued the U.S. for threatening Russia with cyber action and the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
Similar to the previous leak, researchers have criticized the validity of the data and the group's motive for releasing the data including Security Architect Kevin Beaumont.
“The Shadow Brokers continue to grapple for publicity and money,” he said in an Oct. 31 tweet. “The list of servers is 9 years old, likely no longer exist or reinstalled.”
