Russian law enforcement was reported to have apprehended the alleged administrator of the cybercrime forum LeakBase, reports The Hacker News.
The suspect has been in custody since 2021 for setting up and running LeakBase, according to state media reports. A threat actor using the online personas Chucky, Sqlrip, beakdaz, and Chuckies is responsible for LeakBase. KELA and TriTrace Investigations connected Chucky to a 33-year-old Taganrog resident in reports released after the forum was taken down.
"The platform hosted hundreds of millions of user accounts, bank details, usernames, and passwords, as well as corporate documents obtained through hacking," Irina Volk, an official Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs spokesperson, explained.
As of December 2025, the site had more than 142,000 users and over 215,000 messages amongst users.
"More than 147,000 users registered on the forum could buy and sell this data, as well as use it to commit fraudulent acts against citizens."
A search of the suspect's home also resulted in the confiscation of technical equipment and other things of evidential importance.
