Over the next 10 weeks, analysts at McAfee Labs will teach a master class on cyber security at Oregon State University, which will cover everything from malware research, to mobile threats, incident response, and other topics.
The class, called “Defending against the Dark Arts,” will be offered to students as a collaborative effort between McAee Intel Security and OSU.
The first two weeks of the master class will encompass instruction on “malware basics and incident response/forensics,” Christiaan Beek, the director of threat intelligence and malware operations at McAfee Labs, wrote in the blog post. Beek, who'll lead the initial session, added that students will end the second week on forensics with a competition.
An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that the class would be offered to OSU students in the Multiple Engineering Cooperative Program (MECOP). The security class has no connection to MECOP, according to a spokesperson at OSU.
