The Raspberry Pi Foundation was apparently offered money to pre-install malware on its computers.
On December 23, the charity organization tweeted a screenshot of a partially redacted email that was sent to Liz Upton, the foundation's director of communications, earlier that day.

— Raspberry Pi (@Raspberry_Pi) December 23, 2015In the email, a “business officer” named Linda requested a price per install (PPI) quote for an “exe.” file that would create a desktop shortcut to the malicious site. "The user could log into our site “by clicking this desktop shortcut; then this is our target,” the email said.
The name of the company and the malicious site were omitted.
Earlier this year, researchers found pre-installed malware on at least 26 different Android smartphones from manufacturers including Huawei, Lenovo and Xiaomi.
