Data from Cyble reveals that ransomware attacks increased by 30% in October, reaching the second-highest total on record, as reported by The Cyber Express.

Cyble's findings indicated that Qilin remained the most active ransomware group, with a notable increase in victims. The attacks targeted various sectors, including construction, professional services, healthcare, manufacturing, IT and energy/utilities. Moreover, critical infrastructure and supply chains were also impacted, with the U.S. being the most attacked country. The rise in attacks was attributed to vulnerabilities in systems like Oracle E-Business Suite and GoAnywhere MFT, exploited by different ransomware groups.

With ransomware groups evolving their tactics, such as hijacking legitimate remote access tools and utilizing sophisticated techniques for persistence and encryption, the industry faces escalating security challenges.
