RansomHouse claims Italian yarn maker compromise

Major Italian yarn manufacturer Fulgar S.p.A., which counts Adidas, H&M, and Wolford among its clients, was claimed to have been breached by the RansomHouse ransomware operation, which threatened to expose or sell stolen data should the firm refuse to fulfill its demands, according to Cybernews.

Internal files and spreadsheets showing Fulgar's bank account balances, invoices, and correspondence with other companies and government agencies were part of the data samples posted by RansomHouse. Such assertions come as Fulgar has confirmed a cyberattack aimed at all of its IT systems across Italy, which has prompted their immediate shutdown.

Despite the potential compromise of personal data, Fulgar has yet to determine individually stolen information. Nearly 150 organizations, including leading German brewery Oettinger and Hospital Clinic de Barcelona, have already been targeted by RansomHouse since its emergence almost four years ago. RansomHouse was previously noted by U.S. cyber authorities to be among the ransomware affiliates working with Iranian hackers.
