BleepingComputer reports that Conpet, the national oil pipeline operator of Romania, has disclosed the compromise of its data following a Qilin ransomware attack against its IT infrastructure last week.Additional details regarding the amount of pilfered data are lacking amid an ongoing investigation with the Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate, according to Conpet, which emphasized that operational systems or pipeline activity were unaffected by the intrusion. Qilin reportedly exfiltrated almost 1TB of documents from Conpet's systems and published sample files to support its claim.According to reports, the leaked material includes internal documents, some marked confidential, with dates as recent as November 2025. Some files reportedly contain personal and financial information, including names, personal identification numbers, postal addresses, and bank account numbers. Conpet warned that the stolen data could be misused and advised people to be cautious of suspicious messages or requests made through emails, phone calls, or other communication channels.
