POS vendor notifies restaurants of possible payment card breach

Information Systems & Supplies Inc. (ISS), a point-of-sale (POS) and security systems vendor for restaurants such as TacoTime and Dairy Queen, may have experienced a payment card breach, according to a Tuesday BankInfoSecurity report.

ISS recently discovered that its remote access service “Log-Me-In” was breached on Feb. 28, March 5 and April 18, according to a notification letter, received by BankInfoSecurity, which is being sent to impacted businesses.

In the notification, Thomas Potter, president of ISS, explained that the company has changed its “Log-Me-In” credentials, as well as added a secondary password, and is in the process of running virus scans of all its sites.

On Tuesday, SCMagazine.com requested further information from ISS and Thomas Potter, but a phone call and email were not returned.

[An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that ISS is a vendor for Taco Bell].
