Poll highlights attack surface visibility as a leading CISO concern

Attack surface visibility was regarded by chief information security officers to be the leading infrastructure security priority this year, according to The Cyber Express.

Based on responses to The Cyber Express' LinkedIn poll, attack surface visibility received the largest share of votes at 40%, followed by cloud and hybrid security and identity and access security at 25% each, while ransomware resilience accounted for 10%. The findings suggest that security leaders are placing greater emphasis on understanding digital assets across cloud platforms, application programming interfaces, software-as-a-service tools, endpoints, and third-party services.

"It's interesting to see how organizations are adjusting their focus towards infrastructure security as digital transformation accelerates," said Marcos Santos, founder, CEO, and senior full stack developer at Emailsbit. On the other hand, First Hawaiian Bank CISO Adam Palmer highlighted identity, artificial intelligence, and leadership as key factors shaping cybersecurity priorities in 2026, reinforcing the emphasis on foundational controls.
