All Plex customers have been warned by the media streaming platform to immediately reset their passwords following a database breach resulting in the compromise of a subset of client information, BleepingComputer reports.Attackers who accessed the database were able to pilfer certain customers' email addresses, usernames, and hashed passwords, as well as authentication details, according to Plex."Any account passwords that may have been accessed were securely hashed, in accordance with best practices, meaning they cannot be read by a third party," said Plex, which emphasized that the incident did not impact payment card information.Aside from resetting passwords and signing out connected devices and active sessions following the modification, users have also been urged to activate two-factor authentication to bolster defenses against potential hacking.Such a disclosure comes more than three years after Plex forced password resets on its users following a breach that exposed hashed passwords and authentication information.
