Ping Identity launches new AI security platform

Ping Identity has announced "Identity for AI," a new platform designed to bring identity and access management principles to the burgeoning world of autonomous AI agents, reports Security Brief Australia.

The solution establishes a centralized system for registering, managing, and monitoring AI agents, treating them as a new class of non-human identity that requires specific security governance. Key features include agent authentication, authorization, and the enforcement of least-privilege access to minimize risk.

The platform also provides critical visibility through real-time monitoring and session recording, allowing for detailed audit trails and human oversight of sensitive agent actions. Andre Durand, CEO of Ping Identity, stated that "identity is becoming the universal language of accountability," essential for verifying and trusting AI-driven decisions.

The solution further incorporates threat detection to prevent agent tampering and integrates with existing credential vaults. Scheduled for general availability in early 2026, Identity for AI aims to provide the necessary guardrails for enterprises to safely adopt and scale agentic automation while maintaining security and compliance.
