Permiso launches risk score engine for unified identity security

According to Silicon Angle, Permiso Security Inc. has launched its Risk Score Engine, a new model designed to provide continuous, multidimensional risk scores for all human, machine, and AI identities within an organization's environment.

The Risk Score Engine generates three key outputs: Identity Risk Scores to rank the riskiest identities, Session Scores to flag immediate investigation needs, and Organization Risk Scores to provide a single, benchmarkable tenant-level metric. Permiso likens this to a FICO score for identity risk, addressing the challenge many security teams face in quantifying overall identity risk. The system assigns each identity a score from 0 to 100, based on behavioral anomalies, likelihood of compromise, and potential impact. It integrates static data like privilege levels with runtime signals such as active anomalies and authentication context.

The engine scores human users, machine identities like service accounts and API keys, and AI agents equally. This approach aims to provide a more scalable and quantifiable method for measuring risk across diverse identity types.
