Palo Alto Networks, Google Cloud expand partnership with multibillion-dollar deal

Palo Alto Networks and Google Cloud have announced a multi-billion dollar expansion of their strategic partnership, designed to help enterprises securely accelerate cloud and artificial intelligence projects, SecurityWeek reports.

Under the agreement, Palo Alto Networks will migrate key internal workloads to Google Cloud and leverage Google's Vertex AI platform and Gemini large language models to enhance its own security copilot offerings. The deepened collaboration includes integrating Palo Alto's Prisma AIRS (AI Security) platform directly into Google Cloud's developer ecosystem, optimizing Palo Alto's VM-Series firewalls for deep packet inspection on Google Cloud, and using Google's global network to boost the performance of Palo Alto's Prisma Access secure access service edge (SASE) solution.

The companies aim to reduce operational friction by engineering pre-vetted solutions, providing a more unified security management experience. This deal builds on an existing relationship that has already generated over $2 billion in sales through the Google Cloud Marketplace.
