Texas-based Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital had personal and medical information from 257,073 patients stolen following a cyberattack in January, Cybernews reports.

Threat actors who compromised regional medical center's network on Jan. 15, or two weeks prior to the breach's discovery, were able to obtain individuals' names, birthdates, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, Social Security numbers, medical record numbers, medical account numbers, and health plan beneficiary numbers, with patients' photos also potentially pilfered, said NMH in a filing with the Office of the Maine Attorney General.

More details regarding the nature of the intrusion and potential employee and support staff data compromise have not been provided but NMH stressed that there has been no indication of data misuse so far. While NMH has implemented additional network security enhancements and security awareness training in the wake of the attack, it has refused to provide complimentary credit monitoring services to individuals affected by the incident.
