Nutanix’s third annual Enterprise Cloud Index Report, which was published in ExecutiveBiz, revealed that 87% of U.S. federal government leaders and 82% of information technology leaders from the global public sector consider hybrid the ideal IT operating model.
“The public sector has struggled with IT modernization efforts, due in part to the regulatory and security challenges in the industry. However, the rapid IT changes that were implemented in order to maintain seamless operations at the onset of the pandemic proved that modernization could be accomplished in a cost-effective and streamlined manner, all while keeping regulations in mind,” said Chip George, Nutanix’s vice president of public sector for US sales.
Researchers also found that 66% of respondents from the federal government considered security the top challenge in managing a hybrid cloud environment, while 78% said that the COVID-19 pandemic has forced their organizations to take a more strategic approach to their IT efforts and 31% reported increasing their hybrid cloud usage.
“Looking ahead, I believe the public sector will continue to expand its reliance on hybrid cloud models to support increasingly digitized workplace operations,” George added.
