Fastly introduced a collection of observability tools including Origin Inspector and Domain Inspector that are designed to assistDevOps teams with real-time data and metrics capture on connected edge computing platforms, allowing them to improve processes and detect potential threats, according to DevOps.
Origin Inspector enables observation of network traffic flows including HTTPS response codes while Domain Inspector allows access to metrics based on real-time and historical data. The additions expand the range of metrics Fastly provides to clients to more than 200.
Fastly said it will provide integrations with 33 of its own or third-party storage and analysis services. Logging of any aspect of HTTP request and response is now available in a variety of logging formats such as JSON or Common Log Format, and IT teams will be able to store their own logs to ensure complete access control.
The company said it is on track to expand its portfolio of observability tools such as an Edge Observer dashboard for use by customers deploying applications at the edge.
