New Bitdefender tool consolidates security telemetry

Bitdefender has launched a new GravityZone Security Data Lake platform designed to help organizations consolidate and manage overwhelming security telemetry from diverse sources, Security Brief Australia reports.

The solution aggregates logs from endpoints, networks, cloud platforms, and third-party tools into a unified system, enabling security teams and Bitdefender's Managed Detection and Response service to conduct comprehensive searches and correlate data for faster threat detection and response.

A key focus is addressing the high costs and inefficiencies of traditional Security Information and Event Management systems, which often charge based on data ingestion volume. The platform employs a tiered data retention and archiving model to reduce storage costs while maintaining compliance with automated log management and flexible retention policies.

Andrei Florescu, President of Bitdefender Business Solutions Group, stated the data lake "streamlines how telemetry is collected, analysed, and stored to deliver meaningful intelligence more efficiently."

Industry analyst Chris Kissel of IDC added that unifying telemetry with applied analytics gives security teams a "decisive advantage" by turning disparate data into actionable intelligence.
