Evgeniy Kharam, director and network security solutions architect at information security firm Herjavec Group, today provided SC Congress Toronto attendees with a sweeping historical retrospective of the evolution of network security. But when the audience challenged Kharam to jump into his time machine and predict what kinds of innovative, cutting-edge network security technologies would be added to his presentation five years from now, in 2021. Kharam was up to the task.
“Probably machine learning or quantum computers to understand how [network-based threats are] working,” said Kharam. “You're going to have more behavior, more mathematics to figure out what's happening, and probably much more cloud.”
