Security Affairs reports that dental benefits provider Delta Dental of Virginia had information from 145,918 customers compromised following an email account breach earlier this year.Unauthorized access to the email account between Mar. 21 and Apr. 23 allowed threat actors to access emails and attachments containing individuals' names, Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, and protected health information, said DDVA in a breach notice filed with the Office of the Maine Attorney General.Abuse of the exposed information has not been apparent so far, according to the DDVA, which will be offering a year's worth of complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services for individuals whose SSNs or driver's license information were compromised as a result of the incident.Aside from providing dental insurance plans to individuals, families, and employers across Virginia, DDVA also handles oral health programs and claims processing, while reinforcing community oral-health initiatives through its foundation.
