HackRead reports that former DHS Chief of Staff Miles Taylor's new project, GTFO ICE, which was launched to help organize against immigration detention centers, has allegedly exposed the personal data of all 17,662 individuals who signed up for the platform.

The GTFO ICE website, intended as an advocacy tool to track and protest proposed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facilities, reportedly suffered a significant data exposure due to an unprotected public REST API. Researchers found that the site lacked proper authentication and rate limiting, allowing threat actors to potentially download the entire user database, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, ZIP codes, and signup timestamps.

The vulnerability was noticed around May 2026, and despite a notification to Taylor, the API remained exposed for at least 12 hours. The incident has caused concern among activists who trusted the platform due to Taylor's background. The website is currently displaying an "under construction" message.
