Incognito Market operator sentenced to 30 years for $105 million drug operation

A Taiwanese man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for operating Incognito Market, one of the world's largest online narcotics marketplaces. The platform facilitated the sale of over $105 million worth of illegal drugs to customers globally, as reported by Bleeping Computer.

Rui-Siang Lin, 24, was arrested in May 2024 and pleaded guilty to charges including money laundering and conspiring to distribute narcotics. Incognito Market hosted over 1,800 vendors and 400,000 customer accounts, processing more than 640,000 transactions. The marketplace sold over one ton of narcotics, including methamphetamine and cocaine, some of which were laced with fentanyl. Lin controlled all operations, earning over $4.1 million from a 5% commission on transactions conducted via cryptocurrency. Law enforcement seized three servers used to operate the marketplace, which ran from October 2020 to March 2024.
