Identy.io has achieved a significant milestone by certifying its Automated Biometric Identification System for the MOSIP marketplace, positioning it for use in national digital identity programs worldwide, reports Biometric Update.
The company's ABIS platform is engineered for massive scale, capable of performing near real-time biometric verification and deduplication against databases holding up to a billion records. The system processes both facial and fingerprint biometrics, adhering to international standards for image quality and presentation attack detection.
According to Co-founder Antony Vendhan, the marketplace listing provides governments in regions like Latin America, Africa, and Asia with a credible, enterprise-grade alternative to legacy vendors, one that is optimized for diverse deployment challenges from rural mobile enrollment to urban centers. He also emphasized that secure mobile biometrics could enable Africa to leapfrog technological hurdles, transforming access to essential services.
This certification, based on self-testing against MOSIP's criteria, is bolstered by the underlying technology's top-tier validation in independent NIST evaluations, signaling a robust and scalable solution for public-sector digital identity initiatives.
