The U.S was noted by Principal Deputy Assistant National Cyber Director for Policy Alexandra Seymour to be moving to advance the country's AI capabilities by advocating for the implementation of its AI cybersecurity standards in other countries, reports CyberScoop.

"While AI is already helping industries enhance security and address the challenge of escalating cyberattacks, this administration will promote the rapid implementation of AI-enabled cyber defensive tools to detect, divert and deceive threat actors who continue targeting our vital systems and sectors on our federal systems," said Seymour during a panel at this year's Identity, Authentication and the Road Ahead Policy Forum. Ongoing efforts to bolster network security and update technologies for post-quantum cryptography have also been highlighted by Seymour.

Such comments from Seymour echo the AI Action Plan unveiled last year, which emphasized the Commerce and State Departments' roles in heralding global AI governance methods that ensure innovation while remaining adherent to American values.
