Four charged over alleged plot to plant device, drain millions from London bank

Four men in London where charged with allegedly plotting a sophisticated cyber heist against Santander bank.

The suspects – Lanre Mullins-Abudu, 25; Dean Outram, 34; Akash Vaghela, 27; and Asad Ali Qureshi, 35 – are believed to be part of a 12-member gang, all of who were arrested last Thursday before they could carry out the alleged racket.

In the scheme, one of the men allegedly posed as an engineer to fit a keyboard video mouse (KVM) device to a Santander bank computer in London, which would have given the gang remote access to bank computers, allowing them to steal millions of pounds, a Santander spokesman told BBC News.

The four men, charged with conspiracy to steal, appeared in court Saturday. The other suspects were released on bail.
