Fortinet launches firewall for AWS environments

FortiGate Cloud-Native Firewall, cybersecurity provider Fortinets next-generation firewall service created specifically for AWS environments, has become generally available, SiliconANGLE reports. FortiGate CNF is built on Fortinet's FortiOS network operating system, allowing it to deliver a consistent network security experience whether on on-premises or AWS environments, and provides real-time detection of and defense against malicious internal and external threats thanks to its incorporation of the company's FortiGuard artificial intelligence-powered Security Services. The FortiGuard Services product delivers an intrusion prevention system, URL filtering, DNS filtering, application control and other security tools required for enterprise-grade protection. Meanwhile, its intuitive user interface allows for conducting of network security operations even by people with lower security expertise, who also receive support if they decide to define and implement robust security policies as well as assistance from the included AWS Gateway Load Balancer and AWS Firewall Manager. As a managed next-generation firewall service, FortiGate CNF removes the heavy lifting around network security operations and provides a frictionless experience to help customers easily deploy best-in-class security on the cloud, said Fortinet Chief Marketing Officer John Maddison.
