A former LulzSec hacktivist who reportedly helped launch cyber assaults against fox.com, FBI affiliate Infragard, and Sony will join U.K.-based online payments firm Secure Trading as a part time security adviser.Mustafa Al-Bassam, aka “tFlow” will work on the firm's “Trustery” project to “help develop a platform that applies the verification benefits of blockchain technology in order to improve the visibility and security of online payments,” according to The Register.Al-Bassam told the British publication he wants to develop tools to make online payments safer.He is currently studying for his computer science degree but said there is a possibility that he will join the firm full time when he completes his studies at the end of the year.Al-Bassam was one of the cybergang's core members and received a 20-month suspended sentence for a series of attacks in 2011.
