SecurityWeek reports that JPMorgan Chase has announced that information from 659 private equity fund investors had been stolen following a breach at law firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP.

Infiltration of a Fried Frank shared network drive enabled the theft of individuals' names, contact details, Social Security numbers, account numbers, passports, and other government IDs, said JPMorgan Chase in a breach notification letter filed with the Office of the Maine Attorney General.

Such a disclosure comes weeks after Goldman Sachs reported having some of its clients' data compromised following the attack against Fried Frank. Fried Frank, which has already been subjected to multiple lawsuits due to the breach, emphasized that the incident was immediately contained and investigated with the assistance of third-party data security analysts.

"This incident affected a range of our clients, and we are communicating with them directly. We have served and continue to serve our clients without disruption," said Fried Frank.
