Denmark has been threatened to be compromised in a large-scale cyber intrusion by the pro-Russian hacker alliance Russian Legion in retaliation for its planned military aid to Ukraine, according to GBHackers News.

In its first warning on Telegram on Jan. 28, Russian Legion demanded that Denmark withdraw a proposed 1.5 billion DKK support package within 48 hours, warning that it would escalate initial distributed denial-of-service disruptions into "real cyberattacks" if the demand was ignored. After the deadline, the group and associated figures shared screenshots claiming the Danish company websites were taken offline, presenting them as evidence of action.

Russian Legion also later claimed that private firms and public organizations, especially those in the energy industry, have already been targeted. The group also announced a specific time for a new wave of attacks. Security firm Truesec assessed the group as likely state-aligned but not directly funded, noting that such campaigns often rely on threats, visibility, and DDoS activity, while advising Danish organizations to strengthen defensive measures.
