Dell Technologies announced upgrades to existing security products and several new offerings including the PowerProtect Data Manager, according to SiliconANGLE.
The new PowerProtect Data Manager software provides application consistent backup and restore capabilities and can be deployed in Kubernetes and VMware hybrid cloud environments. The company released benchmark data showing that its new solution can be deployed in half the time it takes to deploy a competing product.
The company also announced an upgrade to its APEX storage services to include data protection functions and the addition of Google Cloud to the list of partners in its PowerProtect cyber-recovery solution, after adding Amazon Web Services in December and Microsoft Azure in May.
It means we are available in all three of the major clouds, and it provides customers with the flexibility to secure their data no matter if they are running on-premises, in a colocation facility, at the edge, or a public cloud, said Travis Vigil, Infrastructure Solutions Group senior vice president of product management at Dell.
