Information on 158,128 Boxee.tv accounts has been discovered on the anonymous Tor Network, according to Risk Based Security, a Virginia company.
An unknown individual, or group of individuals, announced the leak on a private forum sometime around March 10, the company wrote in a post, explaining that most of the accounts appear to have been banned, according to the data.
The information contained within the database includes 172,234 email addresses from 17,653 email providers or ISPs, as well as encrypted passwords, password change dates, group IDs, dates of birth, IP addresses users connected from, Boxee site activities, and full personal message histories.
Sources have indicated that passwords were salted hashes that can be cracked easily, according to the post.
