Security Affairs reports that well known Japanese sex toy manufacturer Tenga has confirmed being impacted by a data breach following the compromise of an employee's email account.

Attackers who infiltrated the email account could have obtained customers' names, email addresses, and order information, as well as previous correspondence and customer service inquiries, according to Tenga, which commenced breach disclosures to customers on Friday. While additional details regarding the incident remain under wraps, Tenga reported that it immediately reset the credentials of the breached employee's email account, while adopting system-wide multi-factor authentication measures.

With the data exposure threatening social engineering and phishing attacks, as well as privacy worries and reputational harm, Tenga customers have been urged to not only replace their credentials but also be vigilant of suspicious emails, especially those that purport to be from an employee of the firm.
