Major New Zealand patient information portal ManageMyHealth had information from 108,000 to 126,000 individuals, or 6% to 7% of its userbase, compromised following a New Year's Eve data breach, reports 1News.Additional details regarding the data implicated in the incident remain lacking but ManageMyHealth CEO Vino Ramayah said that the country's Office of the Privacy Commissioner has already been informed regarding the intrusion. Meanwhile, Health NZ, the country's publicly funded healthcare system, emphasized that it has not been affected by the breach."At this stage, there is no evidence any HNZ systems, including My Health Account, have been compromised as ManageMyHealth has separate systems. ManageMyHealth and government agencies are working closely together to fully understand the scope of the breach and to protect the privacy of patients," said New Zealand Health Minister Simeon Brown, who also noted that patient care across the country has not been impacted by the incident.
