Cybersecurity hinging on collaborations, AI

VentureBeat reports that vendor partnerships and artificial intelligence will be shaping the future of cybersecurity as evidenced by the recently concluded RSA 2023 Conference. Mounting tech stack consolidation efforts by security teams in an effort to bolster efficiency and data visibility have prompted record-high announcements of alliances and collaborations among leading security vendors at RSAC 2023, with Palo Alto Networks and Accenture partnering to provide joint secure access service edge offerings, while CrowdStrike has entered into partnerships with Google and Cribl to expand its extended detection and response solutions. Meanwhile, the importance of AI in combating cyberattacks has also been highlighted at the conference amid the growing use of the technology among threat actors. "Today, the threat landscape is challenging. We've gone from 567 attacks per second to 1,287 attacks per second. That translates to tens of billions of attacks. Cybersecurity is very complex. The average defender is dealing with more than 70 tools at any given time, and it takes a long time for us to investigate all of this work and to be strategic so that the AI will be a game changer," said Microsoft Corporate Vice President of Security, Compliance, Identity, and Privacy Vasu Jakkal in a keynote.
