Cyber incident recovery timelines extend up to two weeks as resilience wavers

Infosecurity Magazine reports that cybersecurity incidents, including ransomware intrusions and data breaches, have been experienced by 55% of U.S. and UK organizations during the past year, 57% and 19% of which disclosed completing endpoint remediation and recovery efforts within up to six days and up to two weeks, respectively.

Total incident recovery costs averaged $2.5 million, with 98% of organizations spending $1 million to $5 million for every cyber incident, findings from an Absolute Security poll of 750 chief information security officers in the U.S. and the UK showed. However, only 68% of CISOs reported having organizational cyber resilience strategies, compared with 90% last year, while only 65% noted cyber resilience prioritization over traditional prevention, detection, and response measures, compared with 83% last year.
