The U.S. has deported convicted Russian hacker Aleksei Burkov 14 months after being sentenced to nine years imprisonment from charges accusing him of running two cybercrime forums used for stolen data trade, CyberScoop reports.

Burkov has been detained by officials from Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs at the Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow, according to Russian state-owned media RIA.

Irina Volk, the ministry's official representative, added that Burkov has already been charged with illegal procurement and theft of commercial data.

"He is accused of involvement in the manufacture and sale of counterfeit bank cards and trade in confidential data of clients of financial institutions," said Volk.

In addition to using the the alias "K0pa" on various sites, Burkov had run a money earning-focused forum for high-level hackers, a former U.S. official familiar with the investigation said. Court papers revealed that members of the forum have been asked for a $5,000 fee before joining, while three existing members were compelled to confirm new entries.
