The Briar Group, a Brighton, Mass.-based restaurant operator, has confirmed that it suffered a breach. Those impacted include attendees of recent Boston conventions.
Earlier this month, reports surfaced that hundreds of individuals who attended events at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center received unauthorized charges on their credit cards. Now, The Briar Group, which owns several restaurants and bars in the Boston area, has confirmed via its website that its systems were targeted in order to access card data.
The Briar Group's computer systems were breached at some point between October and early November, potentially exposing the financial data of thousands. A list of the company's establishments can be found here.
