SiliconANGLE reports that VMware has rolled out its new Carbon Black extended detection and response solution, which the company says would significantly enhance enterprises threat detection and prevention capabilities across networks and endpoints and extends network visibility and detection to the company's Carbon Black Enterprise EDR product.
According to the company, VMware Carbon Black XDR uses telemetry within VMware Contexa, its cloud-delivered threat intelligence solution, to help security teams detect potential threats from among the more than 10 billion network flows and more than 1.5 trillion endpoint events that Contexa records per day, as well as from threat intelligence data curated from various technology partnerships. The information also lets teams apply prevention policies more effectively.
As multicloud environments grow in complexity, security teams are challenged with increasing sophistication and scale of attacks. They can no longer rely on disparate security approaches that leave blind spots in coverage, according to Tom Gillis, VMware's senior vice president and general manager of itsNetworking and Advanced Security business group.
