International insurance infrastructure platform Bolttech had nearly 186 GB of highly sensitive data claimed to have been pilfered from its systems by the Everest ransomware operation, Cybernews reports.

Allegedly included in the stolen data trove were employee and agent account details, customer information, contact details, phone numbers, email addresses, policy information, mortgage-related records, insured property addresses, financial parameters, and internal operational identifiers, according to Everest, which published data samples while demanding payment from Bolttech.

While Bolttech has yet to acknowledge Everest's assertions, potential misuse of the exfiltrated information could present significant phishing, identity profiling, and fraud risks to its customers, said the Cybernews research team. More than 100 organizations have already been targeted by the Everest during the past year, placing it among the most aggressive ransomware gangs. Major Brazilian multinational oil and gas corporation Petrobras and U.S. sportswear firm Under Armour were among its most recent victims.
