A trio of security companies made acquisitions this week to bolster their offerings.
On Wednesday, Blue Coat Systems, based in Sunnyvale, Calif., acquired Solera Networks, a South Jordan, Utah-based advanced threat protection firm that utilizes Big Data intelligence and analytic solutions.
A day earlier, Vasco Data Security International, an Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based authentication solutions provider snared Cambridge, U.K.-based Cronto, maker of secure visual transaction authentication technology for online banking.
And finally,San Francisco-based security provider AVG Technologies on Monday purchased Santa Cruz, Calif.-based PrivacyChoice, whose core product is a browser extension that allows users to manage their privacy settings across social networking and other sites.
