Adobe Systems Inc. has agreed to improve its security measures and pay nearly $1.2 million in legal fees plus $5,000 per named plaintiff in the settlement of its class action lawsuit concerning the company's 2013 data breach. Payment card and personal information of Adobe customers were compromised.According to court the filling, expert analysis concluded that although measures could have been taken to minimize or prevent the breach, there was little to no evidence that any of Adobe's customers suffered identity theft or actual damages as a result of it.The software company has one year to implement security standards focusing on intrusion detection, network segmentation, and encryption among other measures. It must also submit to a security audit to ensure that all measures have been met.The settlement is subject to approval by U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh.
