Adobe on Tuesday released a regularly scheduled security update to addresses critical vulnerabilities in its multimedia viewer Shockwave Player. The flaws, which affect Shockwave Player 11.6.1.629 and earlier versions on the Windows and Mac operating systems, could allow an attacker to run malicious code on an affected system, Adobe said in its security bulletin. All of the bugs were classified as either potential or definite memory corruption bugs that could lead to code execution. Adobe said it is not aware of any exploits against the flaws corrected in the update. Users are being advised to update to the latest Shockwave version.
