We found this product to be quite easy to use from setup through management and configuration. The initial setup took just a few minutes and the product was up and running in the environment. We then configured the appliance via the intuitive web-based GUI and quickly had the portal up and configured in just a few minutes as well.
This appliance is all about plugging into the existing environment quickly and easily. The BiGuard can interface with an already existing Active Directory structure for authentication, so login is seamless and easy for users. This product also can function as a full gateway device with built-in firewall, router and intrusion detection.
Documentation provided with this product includes two user manuals. One is the administrator's guide. This manual contains in-depth setup and configuration information, as well as feature descriptions. The second guide is the Remote Portal Guide. This short manual goes into specifics on how to use and navigate portal features. Both manuals are well organized and contain many screen shots and examples.
Support offered includes both phone and email support. Customers can also access a support site designed specifically for BiGuard. This site includes access to technical docs, FAQs, and firmware and product update downloads.
We find this product to be a good value for the money. Even with a price just under $8,000, this product does give quite a bang for the buck. By combining firewall, routing and an SSL VPN, which can plug right into the network with little trouble, this appliance is a solid investment.
